The blood orange is a variety of (Citrus & Sinensis) with crimson, almost blood red coloured flesh. The fruit is roughly the same size as an average orange.
I bought these at the fruit market and hadn't realised they were blood red oranges till I cut them open haha!!
Oh well waste not, want not!!
